My stay was nice at first, but checkout turned into a very rude, unprofessional experience. The hotel says checkout is at 12 p.m., yet the manager knocked and told me I had 30 minutes to leave. I pointed out the stated time, but she repeated the demand. I called the front desk, thinking she couldn't really be the manager, and was hung up on. I've never dealt with behavior like that.

Maria, the manager, is really nice, and the staff do a good job keeping the rooms clean. She gave me a super good deal today. Baymont is right next door, and I've stayed at Belmont too. This place blows Belmont out of the water. For the most for your money, with friendly staff, clean rooms, and comfortable beds, stay at Comfort Inn. Maria will take care of you.
The room I was moved to was better than the first one, but cleaning still seemed neglected in places people don't usually check, like behind chairs and trash cans. There were crumbs on the AC vents and stains on the comforters. In the first room, the floor was obviously untouched and nasty, with a dead cockroach on it. I reported it at reception and they moved me, but I wouldn't come back. There are plenty of other options around that area.
During my three-night stay, staff came into my room the night before my scheduled checkout and removed my personal belongings without telling me or getting permission. I hadn't checked out or abandoned the room. Management acknowledged that the items had been removed, but said they couldn't compensate me because I couldn't “prove” exactly what had been there. I escalated the matter to corporate and still got no resolution. I'm pursuing reimbursement through formal channels. My dealings with the general manager, Maria, were especially concerning. She dismissed the situation and raised her voice several times instead of working toward a solution. The property also had limited front desk availability and unsecured access through the main entrance. Clearing a guest's belongings during an active stay is unacceptable and points to a serious breakdown in procedures. I'd strongly urge caution, especially if you're leaving personal belongings in the room. Edit: The owner posted a professional-sounding public reply, but behind the scenes I encountered lies, dismissal, and behavior that felt borderline criminal. Beware.
Maria made us feel more welcome than we've ever felt at a hotel. She's the best, and if I owned a hotel I'd recruit her. We got yummy cookies for the road too. We'll be back!
