Residence Inn Oklahoma City West

I hardly slept because I didn't feel safe, and I won't stay here again. There was a lot of homeless and drug activity. As we drove past the laundry room on the way to our room, it was packed with people, mostly grown men from what I could tell. Maybe they were trying to get out of the cold, but it felt like a party, and the hotel did nothing and didn't seem to care. They did care about guests taking the breakfast to their rooms, even though it was very limited. They had a waffle maker, which was the only hot food.

My nine-month-old daughter crawled and walked on the hardwood floor for about five minutes, and her feet and knees were black. We couldn't get to sleep until after 1 a.m. because we stayed awake trying to make sure our truck wouldn't be broken into. There were drug deals, prostitution, people breaking into or looking inside vehicles, lots of homeless people sleeping on the stairs, trash everywhere, and people watching what we did. My first trip to Oklahoma City, after driving all the way from Springfield, Missouri, and this will be my last stay at this particular hotel. The night woman at the front desk and the morning man were extremely nice; the morning guy did step in when a man rolled a joint in the breakfast lobby. Breakfast was toast, Frosted Flakes, waffles, juice, and coffee, and signs said we couldn't take it to our room.

I've had a good room here, it's clean, and I haven't run into any problems. The front desk has been very helpful during my stay.

The room was supposed to be nonsmoking, but it reeked of cigarettes. I took photos and think OSHA and the fire department should see them. I also don't understand when hotels started requiring a deposit. I'll have to wash everything that was in the room, even the clean clothes in my suitcase.
