Seabreeze Motel

We don’t plan to return. The property may still be a work in progress, but between the off-site surprise, the uncomfortable setup, and the way our concerns were handled, they could do a lot better. The manager did offer to move us to the main building, but only for our last night. We’d already unpacked and settled in by then, so it wasn’t worth the hassle. The hard working manager and very kind housekeeper are why service gets two stars; otherwise reception would get one. The pillows were tiny and uncomfortable, like crib pillows, and we bought our own to get a decent night’s sleep. The off-site location hadn’t been clearly advertised. Its bedroom had no A/C or TV, and the living room futon was cheap and beat up, with what looked like holes from an earlier accident hidden against the wall. The gentleman at the front desk was polite to me but rude to my wife. After I realized we were staying off-site, I asked if he could void the extra night I’d just booked directly on top of my Expedia reservation. It had been less than an hour since the charge, but he refused. They should invest in better reception staff and stop booking rooms that aren’t properly furnished.

The location is incredible and the staff were fine, but I’d stay farther away if you want a decent night’s sleep. This was the loudest, most disruptive hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The train passes right behind several times a night, police sirens went all night, and people were talking, walking, and drinking outside our door. I wouldn’t recommend it for families with young children who need sleep.

We’d stayed at SeaBreeze Hotel several times, but after August 4-7, 2025, we won’t be back. In Room 117, I woke the first night with itchy ankles, then the next morning found a huge cluster of bites and rust-colored stains on the bed, which looked like clear signs of bed bugs. The mattress itself was stained and disgusting. When I reported it, staff were rude and dismissive, acted annoyed, and made a condescending comment suggesting I should have noticed sooner. There was no apology or urgency. They moved us to another room, but it was filthy and crawling with beetles and ants, another infestation. They never offered to make it right or addressed the health risk to my infant son. It felt like they just wanted to brush us off and make the problem disappear. The place was gross and unsanitary, and the staff showed no professionalism or care for guest safety. If you value your health and don’t want to bring home bed bugs, stay far away from SeaBreeze Hotel.

I spent $417 for two nights and walked out after only two hours. It was the worst place we’ve ever stayed, and the first time I’ve ever left a hotel or motel early. In our one-bedroom suite, there was no A/C in the bedroom, just in the main area. The pullout bed had dirty linens. There was mildew on the shower ceiling, with no ventilation fan. Painters tape held together a cracked vinyl porch post. The bed had no mattress protector, and the quilt had blood spots. The thermostat had been removed from the wall, with the wiring left behind. I reported everything to the front desk, and all they could do was apologize. I filed a complaint with Priceline, but neither Priceline nor I have heard back from the manager or owner.
