Seafarer Inn and Cottages

The owners were friendly, and the location worked well for our one-night stay. Cottage #5 had a bedroom, a living room with TV, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a little front porch with two chairs and a table. Parking was right outside. The kitchen had a sink, microwave, and a nice tall fridge with freezer, but no stove or kitchen chairs. The microwave sat high on top of the fridge. Takeout from the owners' office building was available only during limited hours. Inside, the finish was very rustic and looked sloppy in a few places. The couch was lumpy, the bathroom door wouldn't shut all the way, and I couldn't get hot water in the shower. The bedroom had a smart TV, but reception was unclear and the internet signal was weak. I also wished there were a nightstand on each side of the bed and a bathroom door that closed for privacy. It met our needs for one night, though there’s room to improve in this popular tourist area.

These little cottages have a lot of room for a small family to stay a week, with a full fridge, kitchen sink, bathroom and shower, and bureaus with plenty of drawers. Each one also has its own outdoor space, which was a nice bonus. They’re close to the pier, rides, and beach, and I thought the price was good for a decent place. I’d read some pretty bad reviews, so I brought my sleeping bag and pillow and ended up using them. Still, I liked how individual and homey the place felt. It isn’t decorated like a corporate hotel, and there were some great antique and possible thrift-store pieces. It felt refreshing and old-fashioned.

The owners were incredibly kind and even offered to make us breakfast. The location was perfect for us, and the hot tubs were clean, well kept, and just right for relaxing after a long day. For two budget travelers who aren't hard to please, it worked out perfectly. From the outside, the place looked rough, with a trash trailer right by one bedroom window and random furniture around the yard. Our cabin was dated but cozy. The bed was comfortable, the AC worked, and the showers were warm. Having a fridge/freezer and microwave saved us quite a bit on meals out.

The owners at the seafarer are really nice. They’re friendly, happy to answer questions, and had good suggestions for places to eat. We loved our cottage and the atmosphere, and the hot tubs were relaxing. It’s a friendly, quiet place, even for just one night, and they serve a really nice hot breakfast. Don’t read too much into the negative comments. They’re doing a little remodeling, and this is a wonderful place to come. I’m looking forward to returning in August.
