Courtyard by Marriott Tampa Oldsmar

Customer service was good, but the room had a fake nail on the floor and paint was peeling from the bathtub. I was supposed to pay $138.43, plus a $50 deposit in case something went wrong, for a total of $188.43. When I checked out of room 206 on May 24, 2026, I didn’t get the deposit back. Instead, I was charged another $50. I showed the clerk, but she said her system showed only the $138.43 payment. Three hours later, my bank still showed that the $100 overpayment hadn’t been returned. I included a screenshot of my bank activity. If the $50 had been refunded, it would show in red with a minus sign.

The bed was okay, and we slept well, mostly because our neighbors were considerate. There was hardly any soundproofing, though. The hotel itself looks worn, with obvious wear throughout, a wonky luggage cart, and one old, slow elevator. For the quality, it felt way overpriced. I’d only stay here in an emergency. The woman who checked us in was rude to my husband. She had long blonde hair, and I never got her name because she didn’t make eye contact or greet me. She was unhelpful and made me feel like she was gaslighting us. The Starbucks downstairs was already closed at 9:30 am, which was ridiculous. Maybe Courtyard Marriotts have generally gone downhill.

I’m a loyal Marriott guest and had just had a great stay at another location in Jacksonville. This was my first time in Oldsmar. Everyone was nice, and Gary was friendly and helpful at check-in. Katie at the Bistro really stood out, though. She took wonderful care of all of us at the bar and was so kind and helpful. She’s an asset to the Marriott brand. Thanks, Katie, for the great service.

The room was clean and quiet for our four-night stay, and parking was easy. The location was good too, with plenty of food options nearby. Housekeeping didn’t replace the coffee cup lids, and there was no complimentary body lotion in the bathroom. The AC wasn’t working properly. It would also help to explain the breakfast choices at check-in.
