Towneplace Suites By Marriott Memphis Olive Branch

We were traveling with a soccer team, but nights stayed quiet. The rooms have kitchens, and with a Walmart nearby, it was easy to pick up things to cook. Nice place to stay.

There was noise the whole time I was there, and the hot water never got better than lukewarm. I was assured it was working properly, but after I asked for it to be fixed, nothing happened. They also said there were no rooms available to move me to. This hotel is nowhere near Marriot standards.

We chose this hotel for a stopover so we could enjoy the pool, but it was closed to guests and looked disgusting. The water was green and murky, with pool floats still in it. Even so, a loud party went on in the pool area until 1 a.m. The room was a little rundown and didn't have kitchen utensils. I also felt very uncomfortable after a man in plain clothes made inappropriate comments. I believe he was an employee, though I can't be sure. The whole experience showed very little effort to make visitors feel welcome.

Some of the staff are friendly, but the main people in charge weren't welcoming. I had a run-in with a ms Katina in particular, whose standoffish attitude didn't feel appropriate toward a paying guest. The hotel is extremely run down and needs a complete renovation, including the staff. I wouldn't recommend staying here. Try the hotels next door before choosing this one.
