Hotel Deco

The event here was great, with good food and service. The rest of the stay was a mess, though, and we won't be back, even though we used to enjoy the bar and Monarch. We arrived at 4:25 for our 4 p.m. check-in and were told to wait 5-10 minutes in the bar. It was so cold my wife put on gloves. After 35 minutes, I went to the desk and watched six other guests check in before us. Our first room looked beautiful, but the heat was broken and it was 62 degrees inside. They asked us to wait 10 minutes to see if it warmed up. It didn't. A staff member moved us to another room and kindly tried to get us an upgrade, but the GM said no, so we ended up in a lesser room. That one was 60 degrees. We went back downstairs again at 5:40, with an event starting at 6. A different clerk then said maintenance claimed the heat was working. I asked if 60-62 degrees was an acceptable room temperature, and he agreed it wasn't, then personally checked that the heat worked in a third room. It was downgraded from the second room, which had already been a downgrade. We finally got there at 5:52. The first person had offered free breakfast, but we'd already prepaid for it. At 9 the next morning, the desk confirmed we could have our prepaid breakfast until 11. We arrived at 10:30 and waited 11 minutes to be seated. There was only one worker. At 10:41, they said it was too late to serve breakfast. They didn't even offer coffee, so we left.

The beds were super comfortable, the staff were helpful, and the rooms were reasonably priced. The decor has a lovely Alice in wonderland theme, and there are lots of places to eat within walking distance, including the wicked rabbit, which was a highlight. The walls are thin, but our neighbors were considerate, so it wasn't an issue. Trying the rainfall shower was new for me. Road construction made things a little tricky, though it was easy to work out by reading the pop-up on the website. We'll be back!

After a long hike from NJ, Hotel Deco turned out to be both a great value and a lovely place to stay for my two nights in Omaha. My reservation had some issues, but Bryan was courteous and reassuring throughout, so I never felt worried. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, modern, and relaxing, and the restaurant downstairs was tasty and convenient. The staff were wonderful. Bryant was friendly and helpful, and Jack kept me company at dinner and shared his art. I felt at home, and this stay honestly helped restore my faith in humanity. The hotel has hosted an impressive list of celebrities, including Barack Obama, Taylor Swift, and michael buble.

My wife and I had a wonderful two-night stay at this cozy, warm, fun place. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms were just right. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and check-in, checkout, and valet parking were all easy. I had a bit of trouble with the coffee machine and shower at first, but figured them out. The bed felt a little firm to me, though my wife thought it was fine. I'd definitely recommend it and come back when I'm in Omaha.
