Capri Inn

The owners are really nice, and the bed was comfortable. The room was clean, though very basic. Capri cost about a third of what the nearby Holiday Inn charged, which was $200. They could use a little money spent on maintenance, and the walls in the two-story section are thin. Thankfully, the other guests were quiet.

One thing I liked is that the owners don’t hassle you about having visitors, as long as you pay your bill on time. Other places can be different about that. You get what you pay for, though. If you’re paying less than $90 a night, you have to expect the service won’t be great.

I checked into Room #114 on April 30, 2021, and woke up a few hours later to cockroaches all over the headboard, walls, and floor, with more coming out from under the microwave. It was disgusting. I packed up quickly and went to the front desk at 4 a.m. The owner eventually came out about 20 minutes later, irritated while I tried to explain what had happened. She didn’t apologize or offer another room. When I asked for a refund, she refused, saying I’d already slept there and it was too late. She said they’d sprayed for bugs earlier, as if that meant more couldn’t still be alive, and acted like I’d made it up. I’m trying to get my money back through my bank now. Cheap, but not worth the bugs crawling around the room and bed. Run far away.

My room had a really beautiful vaulted ceiling. The owner is a very nice woman who looks after her guests and keeps an eye on everyone.
