The only thing that let me down was the TV, which got just two channels. They said someone would come look at it, but I took a nap waiting and, when I woke up at 6 p.m., was told maintenance had left. A minor problem, really. JIUMANA was an angel, so accommodating! The place was peaceful even with neighbors on both sides; I never heard a peep or a TV, and the walls seem really thick. The windows were spotless, the bathroom was new and upgraded, and the fresh paint smelled lovely, with no paint odor. Highly recommended!
The room was marked non-smoking but smelled strongly of smoke, and there wasn't an iron available. The whole experience was poor, and basic amenities and customer service shouldn't be this hard to get. I booked this Motel 6 through Expedia with the option to pay at the property, but on arrival I was told the reservation had been canceled because my card was “declined.” That made no sense when I hadn't chosen to pay in advance. With everything else sold out on Valentine's Day weekend, I had to book the same room again on the spot for $50 more. After driving all the way from San Diego to Ontario, that was extremely frustrating and disappointing. I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have no other option.
We felt very unsafe after a resident threatened my friend and me for trying to use the room we'd paid for. An unknown man around 50-60 tried to physically assault my 23-year-old friend and even punched at her car windows while she was asking him to leave her alone. We asked for a refund, but management refused and told us not to book there again. We'd reserved a full-size bed during the New Year period. The people we dealt with were some of the rudest in customer service. Expect loud guests in an unsafe area and very little help from staff. Some hostels and pod hotels in Los Angeles may be more comfortable and safe; at least their staff will work to keep you safe and comfortable.
I've kept quiet about bad stays before because people can have a rough day, but the staff here have consistently been the rudest I've dealt with. They're condescending and unprofessional, and treat guests as if they're beneath them. The room wasn't clean: there was dust and hair, mold in the shower, and a persistent weed smell. They came by eight times a day to "clean," but somehow skipped the actually dirty spots. A dirty tennis ball that wasn't mine also turned up in the room. I asked them not to enter when I wasn't there because it leaves me with a sinking feeling to realize someone's been inside, yet it seems nothing's been touched, or cleaned properly. I get that you have lower expectations at a discount motel, but leaving guests without a clean space and even basic politeness is deplorable. The older woman with dark hair was especially rude. I hope you don't have to deal with her at the front desk.
The beds were painfully hard, and there was still no hot water two days later. When things don't work, they won't even offer a discount. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
