The resort itself is beautiful, and the carpet crew were helpful, even stopping work to guide us around the equipment and handle our luggage. But we drove two days from the cold Midwest for a five day golf trip and left frustrated, with two days still on our reservation. We also had to cancel our golf tee times. Management could have made the stay very different by communicating about the work and its disruptions from the start. Instead, we found out about each problem by chance, and after three days of frustration, construction right outside our room was the last straw. Our room was nice, but it was at the far end from the lobby and resort facilities. To get around without going outside in the rain, we had to walk down a long first floor hallway, take an elevator up four floors, cross another long hallway, then take the elevator back down. Getting to the restaurant and lobby also meant walking around construction equipment and workers. Crews started ripping up the hallway carpet early one morning, and construction work set off multiple fire alarms that required evacuations. We left early, and they were kind enough not to charge an early cancellation fee. We had been paying full resort rates for our five day stay, and no one had told us about the renovations.

We keep returning because the staff and property have been consistently great, ever since our son attended Auburn. On our latest visit, the hotel manager met with me personally and resolved a billing question. Renovation work was underway, but the crew were friendly and tried to keep the disruption down. It’s about a 15-20 minute drive into Auburn, and the setting is wonderfully relaxing. There are pools and walking trails, plus evening activities like Smores by the firepits. We’ve had another great stay.

The slow complimentary internet was my one real complaint. It took nearly 10 minutes to download 1gb, and YouTube videos kept buffering. For 2026, that’s unacceptable, and I suspect the free tier is deliberately limited to push guests toward the paid option. This is a quiet, beautiful resort aimed mainly at golfers, not a downtown hotel with free breakfast. Set your expectations for that kind of stay. The rooms and service are great, and the location is lovely. Keep an eye out for deer on the drive in or out.

We were staying at a nearby airbnb, but booked spa appointments here and were glad we did. The space was beautiful and peaceful, and my deep tissue massage with the hot stone add-on was a win. The spa is 10/10, definitely coming back!

We came for parents weekend in Auburn and this was a great place to relax after Saturday’s game. The beds were so comfortable that I slept really well, and the rooms have been updated. The hotel’s exterior and lobby look a little dated, though they’ve decorated them nicely. Staff were kind throughout, from the bell hop to the front desk, and seemed happy to be there. The pool bar was excellent and a fun place to watch football. We’d choose it again on a future trip.
