Four Points by Sheraton Orlando International Drive

A decent budget hotel with a warm pool and self-service laundry, and the room was clean and roomy. The price was very reasonable. Just don’t expect the luxury of some other Sheraton hotels, it felt about like a nicer Holiday Inn. The pictures are a little misleading: there are no waterslides, just a small outdoor pool. They do have a mini arcade.

The location is what earns this hotel its three stars. It seems to keep guests coming because it’s near Universal Studios, while the rooms and service feel complacent rather than guest focused. I’ve seen the same pattern at several nearby hotels, many of which have since closed. The building’s octagon-shaped halls around the elevators look unusual and appealing, but they carry sound. We could hear hallway noise, doors slamming, and housekeeping opening and banging doors early in the morning, which made it hard to sleep. The rooms and general upkeep also felt worn. Our tub stopper wouldn’t stay up, and the toilets ran through the night. The $22 breakfast buffet was a major letdown. The sausage was dried out, there were no eggs, the coffee station was empty, and the tables were sticky. I’ve had better breakfast service at a Motel 6. I was especially disappointed after using hard-earned Marriott Bonvoy points for the stay. Marriott should inspect the property to see whether it meets brand standards.

Service was the highlight: everyone we dealt with was friendly and welcoming, check-in went smoothly, housekeeping responded when needed, and the front desk made things easy. The new arcade was a fun surprise, and the small heated pool was clean, warm, and relaxing after the parks. We could see Fun Spot and EPIC Universe from our room. There’s a self-pay cafe, park tickets for Universal/EPIC/IOA can be booked in the lobby, and the theme park shuttles make getting around convenient. The rooms are cramped if you’ve got much luggage, and the hotel looks dated. The curtains in our room were visibly stained and dirty, which made the space feel older. It’s a handy, budget-friendly place near Universal with good staff and some fun extras, but don’t expect luxury or modern rooms.

The location is convenient for Universal Studios and dining and attractions on International Drive, but the stay was poor value. Parking costs $20 a day despite the large surface lot and open space, and the extra fee made an already overpriced room even more frustrating. We expected a reliable Sheraton-level experience and wouldn’t return. The room smelled stale and damp, with a strong moldy odor, almost like cat pee, apparently coming from the bathroom. It never cleared. The windows were sealed, there was no balcony or lanai, and there was no way to get fresh air, so the room stayed stuffy. The bathroom also had a lingering mildew smell and poor ventilation. The property feels neglected and old, with worn carpet and dated furniture. Noise came through easily: hallway sounds, slamming doors, and traffic from International Drive. The air conditioner was loud and kept cycling, making sleep difficult. Between the smell, lack of airflow, worn interior, noise, and daily parking charge, this wasn’t comfortable.
