A late night emergency showed just how caring this team is. Around 11:30 PM, my son unexpectedly got sick in bed. I called the front desk, and a kind housekeeper came right up, cleaned and refreshed the room quickly, and was compassionate and reassuring throughout. It made a stressful moment much easier. The whole team had been warm and attentive since we arrived, and the Universal Helios Grand Hotel itself is beautiful. We had a great stay from start to finish, and we’ll definitely return.

The view upgrade we got once the room was ready made our anniversary weekend feel magical. Housekeeping was thoughtful, and the room was beautiful and in great shape. We also loved the pool area, though poolside drink service was a little slow. Walking up to the bar was quicker. Earlier, the valet was professional and held our car while we checked in, and the front desk agent was polite and informative. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived a few hours before check-in, so we had lunch and drinks at the bar in Flora on Mother’s Day, May 10th. The bartender, who’d been there since the hotel opened, was lovely. The food and drinks were delicious, though very pricey, as you’d expect at a luxury hotel in a good location. We loved the atmosphere throughout the hotel.

Collette at the front desk was such a sweetheart, and if you’re getting a happy birthday pin made, she’s the person to see. We loved the food options and everything we tried. The best part was being able to walk straight into epic universe, away from the crowds at the main entrance, which saved us a lot of time. We had a park view room and loved seeing the fountain shows from inside. At night, you could watch the lights around the tall rides, almost like getting that view from a ride without leaving your room. The staff went out of their way to make the trip feel special. We loved our stay at Helios.

Rachel at the front desk made my first stay at the Loews Helios Grand Hotel especially memorable. After a long travel day, her warm, upbeat energy set a great tone for the weekend. She gave me a beautiful room and took time for a genuine conversation about my history with the brand. As a longtime Universal annual pass-holder and fan of Portofino Bay, Royal Pacific, and Hard Rock, I appreciated meeting someone who values loyalty and takes pride in the Loews family. Her clear explanation of the resort’s amenities was also very helpful. The property is stunning, but it’s people like Rachel who give it its five-star soul. This first visit won’t be my last. Please make sure she gets the recognition she deserves.

Getting to Epic was easy, thanks to the hotel's exclusive park entry point, and we could tick off the big rides before the other guests arrived. It was also simple to head back for a swim in the great pool and return to the park that evening. Regular buses to City Walk and Volcano Bay take about 10 minutes, helped by the dedicated bus lanes. The hotel itself is beautiful, with lovely decor and facilities, but the staff were what stood out most. Everyone we encountered, from the valet at drop-off through the other departments, was excellent. A great hotel in a handy spot with wonderful staff.
