Super 8 by Wyndham Ormond Beach

The urine smell in the room was overpowering, worse than a gas station restroom. I had to leave the door open until bedtime just to tolerate being inside. There were no bugs, and the big flat-screen TV on the wall was nice. I'm giving it two stars because they seem to be doing the best they can with what they have. Still, the smell needs a major renovation to fix. If I'm back in the area, I'll check the reviews, and if the place has been renovated, I'd give it another chance.

We paid in full with cash when we arrived Friday, but the hotel asked for my card for a $50 deposit and then charged the full room amount to it after we checked out Sunday. I tried to reach them for a refund, but nobody answered the phone for two days. The room smelled moldy, the toilet was almost at floor level, and the shower had no water pressure.

My room assignment changed several times because of water leaks and roaches. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and squeaked loudly whenever I moved. The floor was in poor shape too. The room used a physical key instead of a key card, with a $20 penalty if you lost it, which felt outdated and inconvenient. The whole stay was very frustrating.

Maggie at the front desk was super sweet and made this my best experience ever. The rooms were clean and easy, and the hotel is only 10 miles from Daytona. I'd definitely stay here again.
