Candlewood Suites Kansas City-Overland Park

The location is right in the epicenter of Overland Park, and the value is fantastic. The gym is amazing, and coffee is available 25/7. I’ve paid two-thirds to half as much at this hotel as at others in the area, and the room is twice the size. Love this hotel.

Shautay, the general manager, was kind, helpful, and professional. The customer service was phenomenal, the rooms are large, and housekeeping does an excellent job. I had a great stay.

My room was peaceful, clean, and had a really comfortable bed. Shautay, the manager, was so helpful and made sure I had what I needed. I enjoyed staying at the mainstay suites and would come back when I’m in the area.

The staff were friendly, but my experience with the manager, Shantel or something, was awful. After I’d been in the room about five minutes, I noticed a terrible odor when I opened the dishwasher. It had about three inches of black water inside and smelled like something had died. I reported it, and the manager said it hadn’t been like that five minutes earlier. When I said I’d only just noticed the smell, she told me, “you white people always think you smart,” then said I was being trespassed. She also refused to return the $475 I’d paid for a week, even though I’d only been there five minutes. Over the next two Thursdays, she tried to charge my card around 6:30 a.m. and 6 a.m.; my bank had to block the attempts. I’m still trying to get my money back. This could be a good place, but the manager needs to be fired ASAP. She has no people skills.
