Sunrise Motel

A comfortable, welcoming place with friendly staff. For a low-cost spot to get some rest, we'd recommend the Sunrise Motel. It's only a mile from the Deepwell and miles ahead in quality, service, and atmosphere.

The owners, a family, were warm and welcoming, and getting checked in and out was easy. The sheets and pillowcases were clean. I wish I could focus on those positives, but there were some major problems. Our room smelled strongly of mold and mildew, and the air conditioner would bang loudly now and then, making it hard to sleep. Dust and dead bugs had built up between the chair cushions, and there was an ant colony in the bathroom sink. A window in another room on the property was broken. The vending and ice machine room was rough too: every snack packet was gone, with little holes where rodents had apparently gotten into them. The owners also seemed to be storing unwanted furniture in that room.

The balcony across from the river is so lovely, I could sit there for ages. I'd stay a month if I could. The Parkview Hotel is beautiful and affordable, and the owners are super friendly. Everything in town, even a grocery store, is within walking distance, and there's a restaurant and bar in the hotel.

The room did what we needed in a pinch, and most of the staff were nice and friendly. Still, it didn't feel worth what they charged. It's outdated, and the bathroom was the worst part: the sink drained slowly and I don't know what was coming up, the toilet only flushed about half the time, and the shower was dark and dirty. My five-year-old refused to shower there. Also, the man I assume handles maintenance was outside late at night arguing with his girlfriend, which didn't seem professional.
