Comfort inn Paducah

The night desk attendant was friendly, but I wouldn't stay here again even for free. The room was awful. The bed was rock hard, the sheets were stained with something, and the towels had brown marks. Light fixtures were loose from the ceiling, the doors looked like they came from an old mobile home, and the bathroom was dated, with black, stained caulking around the shower. In the morning, staff heard my complaints and blamed the condition on the number of workers who stay there, which felt like they were calling working people dirty and disrespectful. That makes it seem the hotel takes no responsibility for the state of the place. I feel sorry for the staff who have to deal with the daily complaints. I wish I'd taken more photos, but you'll have to trust me, it was bad. We paid $84 plus tax. I think my chiropractor sponsors this place.

The location off the highway was convenient, but there were serious problems. Our third-floor window had no screen, which felt like a huge safety issue. The pool, hot tub, and fitness area keys stopped working after the first use. The hot tub was dirty and algae green; it discolored our swimsuits and left us itchy. The shared eating area, including the windows, tables, and chairs, wasn't clean, and the included breakfast had very little choice, which was a letdown. When we stripped the beds in the morning to help, one set of sheets had a brown streak that looked like poop. The other bed had white splatter stains on its base and greasy, oily marks on the headboard. Above the shower head there was brown-yellow discoloration, like someone had been smoking, and rust on the fire alarm water spigot.

The bed covers and sheets seemed fine, but the room wasn't very clean. The floors were dirty, and there was dried yellow stuff on the toilet base that I can only guess about. The ice machine and vending machine weren't working.

For $58, I got a huge suite for me and my dog, and the room was clean, quiet, and had a really comfortable big bed. The young woman at the counter was awesome, helpful, and friendly, and she had two dogs with her. The place is older, with peeling paint and some worn spots, so it suits you if you're not fussy. There was also a great area to walk the dog. I'd definitely go back.
