Concorde Inn Suites Pekin

The free breakfast was pretty limited to cereal and a few small items, but the stay still beat my expectations. Clean rooms, nice staff, and a pool with a deep end. Great value!

I’ve stayed here several times, and each night I’ve been told an extra hour at checkout is fine. Then the housekeeper knocks early anyway, and this time the morning desk manager called with an attitude, saying I always do this and they charge for late checkout. My complaint was simply that I’d been told the night before the hour was free, and then got spoken to rudely in the morning. I was polite, as I am with everyone, and I carry myself professionally. I left a note asking to speak with the store manager. When he called, I explained that the woman had been rude. He said he’d heard I’d caused several problems and once made a girl cry during check-in. That’s a flat-out lie. I’m actually good friends with the woman who checks people in at night, and she’s great. I’ve never had a problem with her. It seems the desk manager knew I was going to complain and made three false accusations to the main manager before I could speak to him, including that several people had issues with me and that I’d made someone cry. The guy manager told me it was best to find another hotel. If there’s a problem, apparently they tell you to stay somewhere else, and a manager will lie to her boss to avoid looking bad. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We woke up covered in bites and checked out early. When we told the woman at the front desk and asked whether anyone had complained about bed bugs, she was rude and didn’t seem to care. All she said was that it was flea season and everyone had them. The place also smelled horrible when we walked in. Disgusting stay and awful service.

They’re upgrading the hotel, but we ended up in one of the rooms that hadn’t been redone, and it was a dump. The room cost $70, though it was worth about $40. I was so exhausted I didn’t go somewhere else. Stay away from this place.
