Knights Inn Petersburg

The room was filthy, with holes in the walls and stains all over the sheets and elsewhere. There were bed bugs too. I asked the office for a refund and was told they'd issue one, but a month later I still hadn't received my money. I called five times and left several messages with my number, but nobody called back. I eventually had to contact the booking website. The receptionist was also one of the rudest, most impersonal people I've met. I'd give less than one star if I could. Don't stay here.

It's day one and I'm already unhappy. The room we booked wasn't available when we arrived, so we accepted a different one, though it wasn't what we wanted. There's no microwave in it, but we're supposed to be getting one. The bathtub is really nasty, and when my friend paid, the clerk didn't have $8 to give him as change. Breakfast is just coffee. The neighborhood isn't the best, but business is business, and we've still got three more nights of this.

The room had a strange odor, a broken toilet seat, and a hole in the bathroom door. There was no heat, and the phone wasn't connected to room service or anything else. For the price, what do you expect?

It took more than 30 minutes to check in because the guy at the counter was moving incredibly slowly. Then he said the room still wasn't clean and we'd have to wait another hour, even though check-in was at 2 and it was already 5. I hadn't even checked in and already hated the place. The next morning I woke up at a different hotel and found he'd charged me the full price despite my never checking in. I travel all over the country for work, and this is the worst hotel I've stepped into.
