The Hermitage Inn and Taphouse

We wanted to rent the whole property for the weekend of my daughter's wedding. After getting the information and touring the place, we were told our date was available and that we just needed to speak with the manager. The girl we first met said she'd pencil in our details so no one else could reserve the dates. But after three weeks of trying to reach the manager, either no one answered or she wasn't there, I finally got through and learned the dates had gone to another bride. We were devastated. I wouldn't stay here, and I've told people who'll listen, and anyone reading this, to avoid it too. The restaurant on site wasn't very good either. I'm glad we tried the food before booking them to cater the wedding or rehearsal dinner. We've since found a much better place for our guests, where we were treated the way customers should be.

The place has been lovingly restored, and it's clean, comfortable, and welcoming. I've stayed several times now, and every visit has been wonderful. It's easy to get to the restaurant and taphouse, too. Highly recommend it!

A small, charming inn run by local owners, set in a historic building with a full restaurant and bar. The restaurant serves cold drinks and fresh food that looks and tastes homemade, with attentive service in the dining room. Lacy was especially friendly and quick.

The rooms are nice, but service was pretty much nonexistent. Coffee was only available with the morning continental breakfast, and they wouldn't make more unless someone asked. They also didn't refill the coffee pods in the room.
