Kasa South Side Pittsburgh

The location is prime, and the apartments are spacious, but they're run down. There were lots of broken or worn things, including tables, closet doors, torn-out smoke alarms, and window blinds, along with stains on the carpets and couches. It wasn't clean when we arrived: the sheets had fake eyelashes in them, the towels smelled mildewy and dirty, and there was dust and dirt all over the floors. We had to buy detergent and wash everything ourselves the first night, then borrow a vacuum from another tenant to clean the floors. Parking also isn't free, which the Kasa website doesn't mention. The experience could have been a lot better if the management company kept the place up and provided better cleaning.

We were in South Side for a weekend visit with our son, and the place was an easy walk from where he lives. Getting into the building and figuring out the parking directions was a bit confusing at first, but it clicked once we got there. We had a great stay and will definitely come back to Kasa South Side Pittsburgh.

I only gave it two stars because the manager refunded me. There’s nobody on-site, and check-in is entirely digital. I got stuck at one of the prompts and couldn’t continue. Some of us would rather not deal with digital check-in, and if something goes wrong in the room, who’s there to help? I think having no staff on-site is a big mistake.

The area was great, with Cheesecake Factory right next door, which was a nice bonus 😋. The room was lovely and comfortable, and the workout room, pool, and hot tub were all clean and nice. We had a great New Year’s Eve night and will definitely be back.
