The continental breakfast was okay, nothing special. Parking was a mess too, it fills quickly, spaces are tight, and some cars take two spots. The hotel doesn’t do anything about it. After two nights, I can’t recommend this place. The rooms were really dirty and smelled like wet dog. The towels were damp, and our king bed had a queen comforter. The fridge and microwave were stained and unclean, and the counter was sticky. That one star is for the basic but acceptable breakfast.

The staff were welcoming and helpful, and the hotel was very clean. I stayed in a studio-style room for almost a week during the snowstorm and loved it. I could walk to the hospital to see my sister, and the garage parking meant I didn’t have to dig out the car or hunt for parking in Oakland. The room had a fridge and freezer, stovetop, dishwasher, microwave, kitchen sink, and garbage disposal. Both the bed and couch were comfortable, and there were laundry facilities to use. They serve a delicious free breakfast each morning. One of my favorite places I’ve stayed.

There were stains and mildew throughout, and our room was never cleaned, turned down, or restocked from Thursday through Sunday. Housekeeping couldn't give us a time when they might come. The parking setup is ridiculous and not complimentary, with a high chance of your car getting dented and no way to know who did it. We were billed multiple times and are still trying to sort it out. Front desk staff were rude, never gave a clear answer, and sometimes just said they didn't know or didn't want to fix anything. They also hung up when we called, then claimed they had been checking someone in, though we could see no one was there. The response was basically, “Oh well.”

The breakfast area was clean, and the woman in charge of it was very nice. Everything else left me disappointed, and I wouldn't stay here again. At check-in the room was dirty, with both dog and human hair, and the shower hadn't been cleaned. The linens definitely hadn't been changed, and the brown couch looked so questionable I wouldn't sit on it. Its dark color seems like it could hide dirt, especially given the rest of the room. Parking isn't always available, and at $22 a day it should be easier to find a spot. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful, which is disappointing for a Marriott property. It gives the impression that management doesn't care. I don't think the high ratings here are genuine. I'd start with the lowest ratings for a more accurate picture.

The elevators took ages to reach the 9th floor, which caused delays, and the bedroom was dim even with a lamp on each side of the bed. I stayed October 10-13, 2025, in room 907, hoping for somewhere comfortable and clean, but the floors and room felt dirty. There was visible hair from a previous guest on the floor, and after a long day I was worried about dirt and hair. These problems make me question the star rating. The rooms need reinvestment, especially for cleanliness, lighting, and elevator efficiency. If those things improve, the property could offer a much better stay. As things are now, I'm unlikely to return.
