The rooms are on the small side, but they’re comfortable, and the views are great from wherever you’re looking. I especially liked the pool and hot tub, and the gym had a good range of machines. The event reception area was spacious and really convenient. I’ve stayed twice, once for a game and once for a wedding held at the hotel. It’s an enjoyable stay in a good location. Parking isn’t ideal if you don’t want to valet.

The view from our room was awesome, but that was the one bright spot. There was a strong mold smell that gave us headaches during our stay. The hotel only services rooms every three days, as others have mentioned. Given what happened, we asked for daily service and were told yes, but it never happened, even after we went back to the front desk to ask again. Our first room had blood stains on the sheets and black, poop-like residue that looked like bed bug signs. They moved us and offered to heat treat our belongings. I think they only treated some of them, and we had to return to the front desk twice because they’d forgotten some items in the room the first time. They said they’d test the room for bedbugs and tell us the results. That took 24 hours, during a convention weekend when the whole floor was booked. Their result was, “No bedbugs, but there was definitely evidence of something.” Um, what?

The kind man who checked us in was thorough, and the valet guys were quick and kind. The location was nice, but our stay was a 2 out of 5. Near the end, our room door broke and we couldn’t get in for over an hour. The sliding bathroom door was awfully loud for a family, especially at night. There were large yellow stains on the undercover and brownish-red marks on the blanket. The room was pretty warm, with no cool setting or AC on the thermostat. We also ran out of toilet paper. When we arrived, the mini fridge was unplugged, so our perishables sat out until we could put them in it.

Staying downtown gave us good parking options, though the hotel offered valet for $44 a night. I paid for two nights. The shower knob was a whole balancing act. Its red and blue markers for hot and cold were labeled in the wrong direction, and the handle was so loose past the halfway point that it would slowly shift from cool to warm, then suddenly skip to hot. I had to hold it in place with one hand while washing with the other. Either way, that’s a no no.

My daughter was there for her NYCDA dance competition, and the hotel felt unprepared for the number of guests. Getting dinner was a nightmare, and getting a drink at the bar was just as bad. The female employee working alone at the little lobby coffee shop/cafe Saturday morning had quite an attitude. We got stuck in one elevator with a group and had to press the emergency button for maintenance to pry the doors open. That same elevator kept having issues through the weekend. I also found gross stains on my daughter’s bed sheets, and both mattresses were so worn down that my husband and I rolled into the middle. The rooms were very small, and I wasn’t thrilled that parking meant choosing their valet. The breakfast buffet cost $21, yet had the same food I can get for free at the Holiday Inn.
