Holiday Inn & Suites Pittsfield-Berkshires by IHG

The photos online don’t match the place, and I won’t be coming back. The rooms and bathrooms were very small. The parking lot was closed, and no one had told us or sent an email about it, even though they did email about the pool closure. We had to park a block away at TD bank. Morgan, whom I spoke with on the phone, was sweet and professional, but the receptionist when I arrived was very rude.

This hotel feels dated and worn, despite what some reviews suggest about renovations. There’s no complimentary anything, and it doesn’t have the “Brand Standard” Costa coffee either. In my view, it’s failing IHG brand standards and needs a QA from IHG. There’s no on-site parking. It’s about a five-minute walk in freezing cold through an area that didn’t feel good. After I called to ask where parking was, I was told on arrival that they had valet, which would have been helpful to know during that call.

We booked a wedding room block with Holiday Inn and Suites, and they were easy to work with. Everyone was friendly and accommodating, especially Grace Daley, who was wonderful. The parking garage wasn’t finished, but we appreciated that they offered free valet.

The staff were hardworking and really friendly, and my dog seemed comfortable. The room was clean and worked well for a getaway. But the AC rang loudly the whole time, and the water took about five minutes to get warm. I came from NYC for a weekend with my mom and boyfriend. The area felt outdated, run-down, and a little sketchy, which I think is what makes the hotel seem that way. I’ve heard the Berkshires are run-down, and I can see why. I wouldn’t stay here or in this town again, though the staff deserve credit.
