Comfort Suites Plano - Dallas North

The price was the one good thing about this stay. There was an unpleasant smell throughout the hotel, and the atmosphere felt more focused on strict security than hospitality. I wouldn’t recommend staying here based on my experience. Our room was a decent size, but the shower curtain had visible blood stains. We didn’t get daily housekeeping, and nobody checked in or knocked to ask if we wanted service. At check-in, my reservation was under someone else’s name. One front desk employee kept talking over me, brushed off my concerns, and gave me wrong information very confidently. I used to work at a hotel front desk, so I knew what to expect, which made it even more frustrating. Aside from one gentleman whose name I unfortunately can’t remember, the staff came across as unwelcoming and confrontational. It left us feeling uncomfortable rather than valued as guests.

The gym was really nice, and the room had plenty of space, a comfortable bed and pillows, and clean linen and towels. There was quite a bit of trash in the parking lot and exit stairways, though.

I’d consider staying here again. The staff were welcoming, the property had a great atmosphere, and the location felt very safe. My room was comfortable, though a few spots were a little dirty, with dust near the bed and AC. The deadbolt also didn’t lock all the way. Since the hotel felt extremely secure, that wasn’t a major concern, but it’s worth mentioning. Everything else went smoothly, and the good points outweighed those small issues.

The staff were friendly, and the room itself wasn’t too bad. The lobby and hallway were another story. For the first two days, the hotel smelled strongly of cigar or weed, though I don’t know exactly what was causing it. My clothes smelled like it as soon as I left. After the third day they started cleaning just the lobby, and it got much better. The place could be great if they cleaned it properly, but I had to check out a day early. I wouldn’t recommend staying until they clean the whole place up.
