Tru by Hilton Plano Hwy 75

Restaurants are easy to reach from here, and the 24-hour Whataburger came in handy when we arrived starving at 2:30 a.m. Chili’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and other places are within walking distance too. The hotel itself felt clean and modern, with nice bathroom products. Breakfast and coffee and tea are included, which I appreciated. We were missing a pillow, but they brought one right after we called. I’ve noticed there’s no in-room safe at either of the two Tru properties I’ve stayed at, so bear that in mind if you need one. I’ve been loyal to Hilton for years and have stayed at a Tru twice in the last two months. I liked this location and would stay again.

The staff were wonderful, and the breakfast was good. The hotel looked clean, like the staff cared. Our room door was badly scratched, as if someone had pried it open before, and there was a gap you could see through into the room. The floor squeaked and echoed with every step. It felt like it might give way before long.

The highway traffic was loud enough to make sleeping difficult. Our king room was small, and the feather pillows were very flat. When we asked for towels in the evening, we were told housekeeping wouldn’t be available until 9:00am the next morning, so we had to wait until then to shower.

Breakfast was a delightful spread. The Tru Hilton in Plano felt like a freshly polished wing of my traveling castle, and it was so new and spotless I half expected a royal steward to arrive with a trumpet. Five stars for a kingdom I’d happily visit again.
