Ramada Pooler/Savannah

The room was clean and peaceful, and the housekeeping staff were very polite. They spent about an hour cleaning the room next door to mine. I’d give this Ramada five stars for cleanliness and friendliness, but booking was another story. We needed five nights and could only get two because they said the hotel was booked. Yet the back lot always looked empty, some windows were open, and the rooms inside were covered in plastic. After reading about most of the Savannah motels, I’ve started to think booking around there is shady in general. It almost feels like they don’t want the business.

The staff were great and really friendly, and breakfast was limited but always tasty. I especially loved the Belgian waffle makers. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the best sleep I’ve had away from home, even better than some five-star rooms. I’d heard other guests mention the rear doors, and ours seemed difficult to get to lock. We also had to push our room door firmly from inside to get it latched. We weren’t worried about our safety, but those doors need attention.

The room was clean and the bed was decent. Just keep in mind it’s a two-story place with no elevator. Breakfast is included, but on weekends it doesn’t start until 7 a.m., which is a bit late to make use of it when you’re travelling.

The pool being out of service was disappointing, and breakfast could use more hot food and tastier choices. Still, the older hotel was very clean and smelled great, and the customer service was great too. It was a nice place overall.
