The bed was great, with five pillows, super soft sheets, and a comforter. The rate was good too. But the pool was closed for supposed renovations, and there didn’t seem to be any work going on. The fitness center was closed as well. I called about the pool and breakfast, and the man said yes to both. There is a pool, but I needed to know if it was open for swimming. Saying they had a pool wasn’t exactly a lie, since it was there, just closed for “renovations,” which is BS. The “hot” breakfast didn’t have eggs, toast, sausage, or bacon. It was only a waffle maker. I choose hotels for the pool, so please be aware.

There was a strong marijuana smell near the front of the building when we got out of the car. I went to the desk, but nobody was there, and there wasn’t a bell. After waiting and making some noise, I knocked on the employees-only door. A woman came out with food in her mouth and said she thought she’d heard someone. I started to explain I had a reservation, but she cut me off with “Name?” After check-in, we got off the elevator to loud voices from a couple of rooms and an even stronger marijuana smell. Our assigned room door was wide open, with an office chair in the doorway. Back in the lobby, the woman had disappeared again. I knocked, called out, then knocked louder before she came back. We asked for another room because ours was open. She made a face and said they were supposed to tell the staff when they were working on something. My husband asked if we could be on another floor. She said nothing, reprogrammed our keys, and handed them back. The replacement room was only one or two doors from the first, and I didn’t want to argue. Inside, the bedside table was pulled a couple of feet from the wall and partly blocked the bed. We pushed it back, then found the lamp switch broken off. The only way to turn it off was to unplug it. That explained why the table was so far out, and made it seem like they knew about the broken switch and hadn’t bothered to fix it. When we arrived, the whole thing felt like a dump with awful service. I’d never stay again or recommend it.

The walls were so thin that even a pin dropping seemed like it’d carry through. I had a hard time sleeping because of all the noise. It’s not a bad hotel otherwise.

Fine for one night, but it really needs renovating. The carpet was dingy, and breakfast was basically frozen biscuits, packaged muffins and danishes, bottled water, and some fruit. Every amenity was out of order: the ice machine, pool, and fitness room. There was also a piece sticking out from the bed, and I hit my lower shin on it several times.

The shower barely had any water pressure, which made washing my daughters’ hair after their cheer competition difficult. Other than that, it was decent for the price, and I’d stay again. We were there for two nights. The place is very dated, with old TVs and musty carpet, but it was clean and the beds were comfortable.
