Broadway Inn

The location is excellent, and the staff are friendly. This is my favorite place to stay when I’m on a limited budget. Parking can be tough when there’s an event at Moda, but otherwise I have no complaints. I’ll keep staying here when I need to.

I booked a room for August 8, 2025, but after checking it, I asked the owner to cancel because it was in such bad shape. I’ve worked maintenance and janitorial at Hilton properties, so I look over every room. The bathroom had rotten drywall with a hole big enough to fit my fist, the shower was clogged, and there was rotten food under the bed. The mattresses were torn, as if someone had cut into the sides with a knife. The owner told me the reservation was canceled, but I’ve been going back and forth with him and hotels.com trying to get a refund, and he won’t authorize it. I’d strongly advise against staying here, and I wouldn’t book through hotels.com either.

We were told by locals we might find a “lady of the night” here, but no luck. We did get free Galaxy gas in one room and a bra under the bed without even asking. Bring your own microwave. The office chair had a suspicious white stain that tasted like frosting, yum? The bathroom was quaint, with every amenity including a broken countertop. The vending machine had a fine range of drinkable things, though a can of Monster Energy cost $7 if you wanted to drown your sorrows. There was plenty of local wildlife by the dumpster. The design was exquisite, and the patio had turf with a putting green that took me back to my PGA days. The transit station was very close, and you could see if you could find some hair gel, I did. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, and this place had heaps of treasure, like my pirate days. It was Broadway Inn Heaven, centrally located by the very jump-off-able Broadway Bridge.

For a two-star place, this was a dump. I was quoted $50 a night over the phone, then charged $120 per night to my card when I arrived. Don't go there.
