We stayed in the huge, beautiful St John's Suite on the third floor. It was much quieter both day and night than I'd expected, and the bed was great. There are USB ports at the nightstand, complimentary robes and luggage racks in the closet, and snacks were always available. I didn't find the complimentary baked goods until after we went out to eat; they're in the kitchen immediately to the bottom right. There were also toothbrush and toothpaste, earplugs and a night-light if you want one in the bathroom. No TVs in the house, which helps keep things quiet. I was unsure about this style of lodging and wondered if traffic would be loud in the middle of the night. One caution: our low-clearance car scraped its bumper a little when exiting onto the side street, so go slowly. A large vehicle might find entry and exit a tight squeeze, but it should work. The narrow spiral staircase between the second and third floors could make bulky luggage tricky. The vintage stairs squeak, so I can't speak to the noise from the second floor. We used the spiral staircase from the first and it seemed quieter and was fun. I like that the closets aren't locked, so you can peek at the architecture. The fridge is a decent size, though the freezer is tiny. Can't wait to stay again!

The breakfast was fresh and really good, and the accommodations made me very happy. I spent three nights at Evermore Guesthouse. The house was beautiful, spotless, and clearly cared for. Such a delightful stay!

The shared spaces worked well for computer work and catching up with my coworker, and the neighborhood was easy to walk around with plenty of shops. I was here on a business trip and had a couple of logistical requests before arriving; support was great then and after checkout, when I realized I’d left something behind. The bed was comfy, and the converted old house was quieter than I expected. It was one of my best stays in a long time. I’d gladly come back and recommend it to friends.

There were shared areas available if I’d wanted to spend time around other guests, though I didn’t interact with many of them. The place has a cool vintage feel, and the price was reasonable. Check-in was self-service with a keypad, and breakfast had a nice mix of simple things, from fruit and fig bars to oatmeal, cereal, and coffee. The staff were friendly, helpful, and professional from the reservation through a later question about my receipt. I’d definitely stay again.

I find this the most convenient place to stay when visiting my son in PDX, and the self-serve breakfast is great. It’s comfortable, but the rooms could use updating, and I don’t care for the pillows, so I bring my own now. The claw-foot tubs in the rooms I’ve tried take some agility to get in and out of. In my recent room, the windows wouldn’t open, and it felt stuffy even with the heat set to 66 degrees.
