Inn at Northrup Station

I’ve stayed here often over the years and can’t believe I’ve never reviewed it. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, parking is included, and they provide free streetcar tickets. The staff are friendly and know their stuff, and the location is great. Even with the streetcar passing right by, it stays quiet. I also appreciate the fully equipped kitchen, which makes fixing breakfast easy.

The room gave us plenty of space to spread out, and the funky decor was fun. We didn’t use the full kitchen this time, but liked knowing it was there for a future visit. Wi-Fi and hot water worked excellently, and the quiet area at night was nice. The continental breakfast was quite good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it’s easy to walk to lots of places or hop right on the trolley. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely come back.

We loved this place so much that we’re already planning a longer visit next summer. We only stayed one night for the Timbers playoff game, but the room felt like a mini apartment, with a kitchenette that would be great for a longer trip. And the bed was incredible. I slept like a rock, one of the best nights of sleep I’ve had in ages. The colorful, quirky Inn at Northrup Station feels local and has personality, with a great spot in Nob Hill. Free parking is hard to find in Portland, and they also give you free Streetcar passes, plus a continental breakfast that was genuinely good. Those perks saved us money and made getting around easy. If you want a sterile luxury resort with a pool and spa, this isn’t it. The funky feel is part of the appeal if you want value, a comfortable bed, and free parking and transit. Definitely check it out.

I was kindly hosted by the Inn at Northrup Station, which sponsors kickstand Comedy in Portland, and had a great time there. The rooms were super clean and the beds comfortable. I especially appreciated having a kitchen, and the yoga mat in each room was a nice surprise. I didn’t try breakfast, though it looked decent. There are plenty of spots within walking distance for coffee, food, a drink, or groceries. My room faced the tram tracks, and the tram runs regularly, so light sleepers may prefer the other side of the three-story hotel. They graciously switched my room when I asked. I enjoyed the Portland vibe and highly recommend the Inn at Northrope Station. The staff were kind, and the place deserves five out of five stars.
