KEX Portland

Tim, Christian, and Jay made everything easy at the front desk, especially after I realized I’d left a few things behind. They were helpful and just great guys. The rooms and hospitality were A+++ too. Portland hasn’t always treated me to the best stays, but this one was fantastic. I’d absolutely return to the Kex Hostel.

Tim’s kindness really made my four nights at the Kex. He welcomed me with a huge smile, then helped rearrange my reservation when I came back downstairs after checking in. Even though Valentine’s Day weekend was fully booked, he found a way for me to have a little more space. Later, he tried to track down a phone charging cord after I realized I’d left mine at home. The next day he checked in about how I was doing and how my day had gone. I loved his humor, and it meant a lot that he kept making sure I had what I needed. Thank you, Tim! ♥️ I was there last weekend for a training session across the street. The hotel felt cozy and sweet, with vintage touches throughout.

The miso albacore was delicious, and the restaurant food was really tasty. The room felt cozy, with cool views, and the location was great. Everyone working there was so nice. It’s a cool hotel and hostel, and I’m looking forward to coming back. One drink was enough to have me feeling good.

I haven’t stayed overnight, but I go to the bar often. The bartenders are so nice and make great drinks, and the rooftop bar has delicious cocktails in a really nice setting. The food has been incredible. I’m picky about salmon, and theirs was some of the best I’ve had at a restaurant, with crisp skin, flaky fish, and seasoning just right. I also brought a chicken sandwich home for my partner, and they thoroughly enjoyed it.
