The apartment was gorgeous and very clean, and check-in and checkout were easy. Parking was convenient once we found the lot, though the directions weren’t very clear. There’s a full kitchen, handy for stays longer than a day or two, and the location was central to a lot of what we did in Portland. For the area, it seems like good value. The place looks like aesthetics were a priority when it was built, and I’d stay again all things considered. A few things bothered us. A bright light on the bedroom ceiling motion detector flashed every 20 seconds or so, making it frustrating to sleep each night. The automatic door to enter and leave the building got stuck most times we used it. And the living room furniture was so uncomfortable that I wouldn’t plan on anyone sleeping on the couch.

Middle Street puts the loft right among the restaurants, bars, and shops, and you can walk to the water. Location really matters when you visit somewhere new, and this one was right in the heart of town. The lofts are luxurious, from the architecture to the finishes. I enjoyed walking around, but was just as glad to come back to the loft. We stayed in one of the Docents lofts this week, and it was amazing. I can’t say enough about The Docents Collection.
