Portland's White House - Bed & Breakfast

I really liked how clean and well maintained the house was, and it was lovely too. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the other guests were pleasant to talk with. The location works well for afternoon walks and browsing, and the comfort level was very good. Breakfast was good, though not the best I’ve had. Having stayed at B&Bs around the country, I’d rate this one highly and would recommend it.

We stayed eight nights, longer than most guests who seem to pass through for two or three, and I wish we could have stayed even longer. The place feels like living in a mansion, with its elegant historic architecture kept as authentic as possible. After turndown, homemade cookies were left in our room. Breakfast at the shared table was varied, and since my wife and I are vegan, the chef made us a different custom breakfast each morning. Staff were warm and always ready with nearby restaurant or attraction suggestions, maps, and directions for getting around. We met newlyweds, families visiting colleges, people sightseeing, and guests attending a nearby wedding. Such a wonderful week. If you’re in town for a day, stay here, and a week is even better.

We came to Portland on our last visit and had such a relaxing, comfortable stay here. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, and the rooms, bathrooms, and furnishings were all very nice. Breakfast and the cookies were lovely too. It was a fun change from a regular hotel, and we felt like family.

The staff were friendly, lovely, and helpful, and breakfast was a real highlight, with something different each morning. We were impressed as soon as we arrived by the delicious cookies and the beautiful house. The bathroom was clean and nice too. Our experience at PWH was incredible.
