Super 8 by Wyndham Prattville Montgomery

The proprietor seems to take pride in keeping the motel updated and clean. My room was nice and tidy, the bed was very comfortable, and the A/C, TV, and refrigerator all worked well. It was a great stop while passing through town, and I’ll stay again if I get the chance.

We stayed one night, and at first it seemed okay. We weren’t expecting a fancy hotel. The next morning my husband had bites on the back of his neck and was itching; more appeared during the day, and mine started that evening. We found out we’d been bitten by bed bugs. He had at least 25 bites and I had 15. It’s crazy. For $100, the beds should be free of bed bugs. Breakfast was coffee and cold sausage and biscuits. I also lost a $5 bill in the vending machine while trying to buy drinks for us. The machine said it took 1s or 5s. At the desk, a man said I’d get the money back at checkout. When my husband checked us out, they tried not to return it, saying the machines weren’t theirs while someone was filling them outside. He insisted they owed us the $5, and we did get it back, but the attitude and what felt like lying were unbelievable. The man knew this would happen, which is why he said we’d get the money back at checkout. I’ll never stay there again. I plan to call about the bites, though I expect they’ll just apologize and do nothing.

The place is so well cared for that the attention to detail is hard to miss. I stay in over 200 hotels a year, and this one stood out. My room was modern and very clean, with a great bed, good pillows, and everything maintained. The whole property was nicely groomed. Staff greeted me warmly, and checkout was quick and friendly. Even the coffee was good. Great job, Super 8, you’ve restored my faith in what a well managed, budget-friendly hotel can be.

Everything looked immaculate, and the rooms have been freshly renovated with new flooring, sheets, and good paintwork. It was clean and quiet, and they’ve also redone the reception and breakfast area. Really pleasant, highly recommend.
