Clarion Inn and Events Center Pueblo North

Check-in and checkout went smoothly, and the location was convenient. The room itself had bugs, and there were cigarette burns on the couch and bedding. The website photos didn't match what we found. The pool, hot tub, and lounge were all closed. Honestly, I'm surprised Clarion still has this place under its brand.

The lot was full of potholes, and people seemed to be living there full-time, with patio chairs and grills left on the walkways. We didn't feel safe or comfortable, and the room was dirty and in rough shape. The adjoining-room door lock was broken, and the stairwell was taken apart. Even the sanitizing wipes I used on the remote and phone came away showing lots of grime. The front desk service was fantastic, especially considering we checked in and left within 25 minutes.

I lived for over a year in the “Suburban Studio units” behind the main hotel, paying $52 a day, $15448.00 total. Now I'm homeless and trying to find housing. On Fri 6June25, I was told to leave along with everyone else because Clarion had “lost its' license to operate the Clarion.” The reviews about bugs in the rooms and “value your life” are definitely true. The Clarion has tried to kill me, but I'm trying not to give up.

The rooms for people living here should be handled separately from those for guests staying a few nights. I understand that residents treat the buffet as all-you-can-eat, but there were also health-standard problems, and I wish I'd taken more pictures. At 8-8:15 there was no food left. When I asked if more was coming, the man said it was first come, first serve, though the front desk had called it a breakfast buffet and hadn't explained that. I even saw a sign saying the hotel behind them had to pay eight dollars. The breakfast cook and morning front desk woman were both extremely rude and need customer service classes. The women's pool restroom was disgusting, with garbage and nats everywhere. My room was a 3 out of 10: the sink didn't drain and wasn't even set properly in the vanity, and the floor wasn't cleaned well. This place shouldn't be listed for Choice Hotels. I had several reasons to ask for a refund. It's gone downhill, but you get what you pay for.
