Travelodge by Wyndham Pueblo

We left and found another hotel after the second room turned out worse than the first. In our original room, the TV didn’t work and the toilet made a noise like a plane speeding down a runway when flushed. We’d only been away for dinner with family for about two hours before we found those problems. At checkout, they said a refund needed management approval. We went back Sunday morning, but management wouldn’t be in until Monday, and we couldn’t reach anyone. We decided to dispute the charge through our credit card company. Travelodge by Wyndham should make sure rooms are checked for mechanical problems during cleaning and that staff can access the program needed for check-in.

The front desk employee was rude to the people ahead of me, and they left complaining. When I was getting my room, I politely mentioned that she seemed aggressive toward us. She told me to leave. I apologized for calling out her rudeness, but she said she could refuse service too, then went into the back office and refused to serve me. She represents the hotel and should treat people with respect. I’ll dispute the charges. February 8, 2026

The staff were nice, the location worked well for getting around, and our sheets and towels were clean. We didn’t try the breakfast, so I can’t speak to it. The room itself, though, was terrible. The mattresses were uncomfortable, tiles were cracked, and paint was peeling in both the bathroom and the room. The carpet and chair were badly stained, with bits of edging sticking out, and there were scuffs and dirt all over the walls. The place felt worn out and far from clean. The door took a shove to close, and the toilet tank only filled some of the time, so I had to fix it myself. We could manage that, so we didn’t bring it up. I have photos and will add them when I’m on my phone.

I’ve worked in hospitality management for years and stayed in plenty of places, but I’ve never been treated so badly just for trying to communicate. I was trying to sort out what had gone wrong with my reservation, and they told me to leave in 8° freezing weather with my 7 and 12 year old girls. We then waited 2 1/2 hours for another taxi. It’s disappointing that wyndham has its name attached to this kind of treatment. I wouldn’t want anyone to put their children through it, and I wouldn’t recommend staying here.
