Days Inn Queensbury/Lake George

After several okay nights, I bought the room online through a deal on the fourth day, but they refused to honor that payment. They made me get a refund and then wanted another $40. I wouldn’t pay it, so they told me to leave, called the police, and refused to return my deposit. It was a terrible experience. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy.

I’ve never written such a negative review, but this is a matter of principle. They gave me two different rooms that night, and neither had been cleaned. At 3am I gave up, couldn’t stay there, and had to find another hotel. The owner still won’t refund me. It’s been two months and 10 phone calls. They keep blaming renovations, but this has nothing to do with renovations. Run while you can.

The rooms didn’t look like the pictures and smelled like cigarettes. I didn’t stay because of the conditions, and after saying they would refund me, they refused to give my money back.

The bathroom was the worst of it. There was a hairball in the shower drain, fixtures held up with masking tape, dust in the corners, a broken sink drain, a broken outlet, a dirty mirror, and a shower covered in mildew. It smelled absolutely awful. We came out of the shower feeling dirtier than before, with our dignity and hope gone. I’ve used gas station bathrooms cleaner than this one. The place clearly has no standards and is horrific and unsanitary. When we reported what we found, the man at the front desk seemed genuinely sorry, but didn’t do anything. Avoid it at all costs, and don’t be taken in by the website’s misleading appearance. My mother and I came with low expectations because it was cheap. We just needed a clean room for one night. Instead, we walked into a strong smell of mildew, mold, and sadness. There was crust on the walls, and not one surface looked cleaned or even dusted. The supposedly clean sheets had odd dark spots all over them.
