The room was cramped and a little stuffy with two queen beds, but the beds, pillows, and towels were clean and comfortable. The heater smelled like something was burning when we switched it on, so we opened the windows to air the room out. The jacuzzi tub had a heavy ring of scum and grime on the bottom, though a little scrubbing and rinsing cleared it easily. The room was a good price, and breakfast was nice. There was a covered outdoor patio where you could eat away from the small breakfast area. All in all, the good outweighed the bad and I enjoyed the stay.
The bed was really comfortable and the jacuzzi hit the spot. I got a good Groupon deal, then paid $30 more to switch to a non-smoking room when I arrived. Front desk service was nothing special, but they weren't rude. Weekend breakfast was continental and delicious, and the staff there were very friendly. Everything in the room worked well except the desk chair, which wouldn't roll even though I needed to use it. Can't wait to stay again, this is one of my favorite places and it's consistently good.
The lovely gazebo with its cafe tables, flowers, and plants was my favorite part of the hotel. I enjoyed eating breakfast there, since the little breakfast room with its two tables got crowded, and the mirror wall didn't make it feel bigger. Breakfast was free and decent, with pancakes, French toast, eggs, potatoes, sausage, toast, cereal, and a rotating choice of bacon or corn beef hash, plus several juices, milk, coffee, and hot chocolate. Most food was microwaved, but it still tasted good. The property was quiet, though the neighborhood didn't seem like the best. My room was very small, the mattresses hard, and the soft pillows plentiful. I couldn't reach the closet without climbing over a bed. The room was warm, and I wasn't sure the AC worked, so I left the bathroom window open to cool things down. The bathroom was only somewhat clean, and dust was everywhere later, so the fan may have needed cleaning. The Jacuzzi tub was nice, and I liked the shower and tub temperature controls, but its main control was outside the room. There weren't enough towels for two people, though I think more could be requested at the main office. The front desk was so rude and unhelpful that I didn't want to ask. I could have given more stars if those interactions had been better. After I got home, I noticed I had been charged twice. When I called, the person wouldn't help and told me to call another day. She didn't seem to understand the problem. Maybe she can afford two charges on her account. I hope it gets resolved.
I've loved this Hotal since it opened. It's convenient for stores, and breakfast and coffee are there in the morning. The place is comfortable, and I really love the tubs after a long day of work or travel!
The price was good, but the stay didn't meet expectations. I had a king-size room with a kitchen, though there were NO plates, silverware, or utensils. The description mentioned a bathtub with jets, but we got only a shower. The kitchen was in a small room separated from the bedroom by a door, with two electric burners, a full-size fridge, toaster, coffeemaker, and sink. The AC/heater couldn't hold an automatic temperature setting, so I had to turn on air at the temperature I wanted and get up to switch it off when it was done.
