Americas Best Value Inn Richmond VA Midlothian Turnpike

Roaches were crawling around the room, including half-dead ones in the fridge and larvae all over it. As soon as you open the door they get inside, and I’m pretty sure they can get in even when it’s closed. Then there was the shower: during the snowstorm that night, I let the water run for 10 minutes and it stayed ice cold. I checked out, having paid $50, but the front desk guy would only offer me $10. He said the woman was the manager, but when I called back she said she wasn’t and told me to call in the morning. The guy later changed his story, saying she wasn’t the manager and that a new manager had come in. When I asked who that was, he said it was him, and refused a refund. They tried to claim the hot water worked, but it didn’t. These are scammers.

I spend too much money here to be treated this way. I asked the woman at the front desk for towels and washcloths, and she threatened to kick me out. It’s crazy to get that upset over a request like that. I spend my money with y’all, and this is the thanks I get.

The room was already bad, and then I opened the fridge and found roaches inside. I took pictures straight away and brought them to the front desk. The woman there got erratic and hostile when I showed her. She grabbed my key and told me to “call the police” if I wanted my money back. I paid for a room with roaches in the refrigerator, yet somehow I was treated like the problem. There was no apology, no effort to fix things, and no professional customer service. The motel was filthy, and my experience with the staff was some of the worst I’ve ever had. If management lets guests be treated this way while renting rooms with roaches, that tells you plenty. Save yourself the hassle and stay somewhere else. The Red Roof Inn up the street is very nice and clean.

The front desk woman was aggressive and disrespectful, even threatening to withhold a room I’d already paid for. She was rude and rough, with no customer service at all. This was horrible. I can’t stay here again or recommend this shitty hotel to anyone.
