The TV picture kept wavering, which was annoying, though I went to sleep and it should be fixed. Otherwise, it was quiet and I'm glad I picked this Wingate for my one-night stop on December 29, 2025. The room was exceptionally clean except for the bathroom mirror, and perfect for me and my fur child. The bed and all four pillows were comfortable. For a hotel at this level, the continental breakfast was off the chain. Sausage gravy and decent biscuits at 6 a.m.! I don't know what brand they used, but both were great. The coffee was a little strong, so please offer plain creamer. If I make that same 800 mile each way trip next Christmas, this will be my halfway stop going and coming back. Highly recommend. My first room had standing water on the floor, a broken entry door that wouldn't shut properly, and a wet washcloth left hanging on the shower rod. It clearly hadn't been cleaned right. When I asked for another room, the desk agent seemed unfazed by the problems. The new room had a working door but was still in bad shape: the furnishings were rusted or delaminated, part of the floor was peeling up in a corner, and the wall by the shower was deteriorating from water. Far below the three-star rating they claim. I wouldn't recommend it.

After traveling all day from Jamaica, we were grateful that Jamie and her team got us into a room and made us comfortable for the night. She was so hospitable, treating us like family. We also met a very kind employee at check-in who was working there from lewisville tx, where we're from. Thanks to everyone for helping us.

At first check-in, everything seemed fine. Then we found clusters of ladybugs in every corner of the room. Since it was a last-minute work trip, we let it go. On the second night, my boyfriend woke at 2 a.m. with a roach on his face, about the size of a mini Snickers bar. We went downstairs, but a sign said staff would be back in 5-10 minutes. A police officer had already waited there for ten minutes. We kept ringing the bell and calling out, with no response, until I went into the snack area and rang its bell. Then someone said, "I'm here." The employee came out with bloodshot eyes, groggy like he'd just woken up. It was late, but with an active roach problem and guests needing help, that wasn't okay. He saw the roach and offered another room without apologizing. Then he said the website was down for maintenance and he'd call in thirty minutes. My boyfriend waited downstairs, but five minutes later the site to switch rooms was somehow working. The next room smelled too, though at least there weren't any roaches that we could see. The breakfast tasted like rubber hockey pucks. Update: there was a dead roach behind the bed frame in that second room. The next morning we spoke with Ms. Jami, who made the situation ten times better. She listened, showed remorse, and offered a feasible solution, which was all we'd wanted from the start. She found another room and made sure it was up to par. I really appreciated how attentive and thoughtful she was. I'd definitely recommend handling things with her.
