MainStay Suites Roanoke Airport

For our girls' weekend, the three of us felt safe and secure throughout our stay. The rooms were spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and top-tier water pressure. The staff were attentive and incredibly friendly. Lots of good restaurants and shopping are nearby. We loved it and will definitely book again.

After staying at three hotels on my way home this past week, this one was the best by far. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable of them all, and I loved having a full fridge in the kitchen. I just wish breakfast was served. One issue: trash bags left in the hallway overnight made the second floor smell like cabbage.

The location was great, with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance, and our stay was pleasant overall. The hotel is pet-friendly, which was a plus since we brought our fur baby boy. The room was clean and had pretty much everything we needed, though the silverware was sparse: just one spoon, fork, and knife while the other items were in full sets. My husband grew up in Roanoke, and we were visiting family from out of state. We stayed at a hotel because the trip was a surprise and we didn't want anyone fussing over us. Booking online made check-in easy. Breakfast was one reason we chose the hotel, since it was advertised, but none was provided. There was a coffee bar, but we didn't try it; my husband said the in-room coffee tasted like cardboard, as hotel coffee often does. The staff were friendly, though something felt a bit off and I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

The room was nice and clean, and breakfast was nice too. The problem was their park and fly service. At $10 a day, parking wasn't cheaper than the airport economy lot. When we got back, they said the shuttle driver had gone home, so we had to Uber back to the hotel to get our car. Ridiculous.
