Motel 6 Rockford, IL – RFD Airport

I canceled my reservation after being told cats aren’t allowed, so I didn’t stay here. The reason for that policy could be debated, but that’s not my complaint. I couldn’t find it listed anywhere. The hotel should make this clear on its website or during the booking process.

The bed was very comfortable, and there’s a fitness room. The cost was amazing, the service was great, and the rooms were very, very clean. This isn’t your regular Motel 6. The towels were very thin, but I can overlook that because everything else was great. I’d definitely stay at this location again if I’m in the area.

Edit: We asked for our room to be cleaned for six days, and it still wasn’t done. It hadn’t been cleaned in 13 days. I told them about all the problems we’d had, but they didn’t care until I left this review. Nearly every time I went to the desk there was no hotel staff there, and they wanted us to use a kiosk to talk with someone thousands of miles away. People smoked weed in the hallway all month. They’re also kicking us out because we left a bad review. The stay had several problems, even though it was clean and cheap. The shower door wouldn’t stay shut and water got everywhere, while the bathroom door wouldn’t close. The “kitchen” was just a mini fridge and microwave, despite the photos showing a full-size fridge. Laundry was in another building 300 feet away, with no sidewalks and ice everywhere, and I was told to carry my clothes over. When it was -10 outside, the heat stopped working. We called several times starting at 8am, but maintenance didn’t arrive until 4pm. Three times I went to the front desk and no one was there.
