We loved our two nights at The Desert Thistle in late May while visiting Zion National Park, and wish we could give it more than five stars. Maureen was warm, kind, and accommodating from the moment we arrived. She’s dedicated to her guests, and it felt like staying in a home away from home. Everything was clean, comfortable, charming, and had all the amenities we could need. The location is hard to beat, about a five minute drive from Zion and just outside downtown, so it’s peaceful after time in town or the park. After a day of hiking, the pool was an absolute delight, and none of the other B&Bs in the area have one. Getting to know Maureen was the best part of the stay. She’s an incredible person with a heart of gold. We already miss her, can’t wait to visit again, and look forward to recommending The Desert Thistle to family and friends.

The anniversary room was spacious, with really comfortable beds, and we had plenty of hot water every day. Maureen was welcoming, easy to talk to, and available whenever we needed anything. She also had great recommendations. The room came with Biolage shampoo and conditioner and a full-size hair dryer. After hiking, the pool was a perfect spot to unwind. It’s a very short drive into the park, and we’d absolutely stay with her again. Thanks for being so hospitable, Maureen. ❤️❤️

Maureen is a local and gave us great suggestions for places to eat and things to do. Her place is just a short drive from Zion’s entrance, restaurants, and shops, while still far enough out of town to be quieter and less touristy. It’s clean, comfortable, beautifully done, and homey, with great amenities. I’ve never written a review before, but my experience at Desert Thistle was so good that I had to share. If you’re visiting Zion, I’d strongly encourage you to support a local business and stay here.

We stayed in the Canyon King. The beds were incredibly comfortable, easily the best sleep I’ve ever had. I need the recipe! It’s a really cute bed and breakfast, with private rooms and an adorable coffee area. Maureen was an attentive host and flexible about our check-in.

We had a mini fridge in our room and plenty of DVDs to watch at night and unwind after hiking. Each morning we also got a voucher for free breakfast at a participating restaurant in town. The place was just right for our first wedding anniversary, when my husband and I stayed here in late September 2016. It’s right by the mouth of the canyon, so driving in and out was easy, and it’s far enough from town to be quiet while still conveniently close. The house was beautiful, the rooms lovely, and the owner super friendly. We saw lots of wildlife, including several cute lizards among the rocks and a gray fox right in the driveway one night. It was amazing!
