Relax Inn

I checked in, went out for dinner with my girlfriend for an hour or two, then came back to look over the room like I usually do. I didn't feel safe, and when I reached to plug in the TV, roaches came out of it. That was enough for me. The room also had bedbugs, and half the lights didn't work. After I called to ask for a refund, the woman kicked me off the property. I never got the money back. They were rude and the place was dirty. Just a terrible place to spend the night. Please don't stay here.

The room was clean, newly remodeled, and smelled great. The housekeeper really went above and beyond, even bringing our food from the office to us. The staff were friendly and treated us like family, and the owner gave the kids candy, which was kind. I felt safe with my wife and children, and the cameras covered all the views. We chose the motel because it was cheaper and close to everything. I'd been nervous after reading the bad reviews, but we shouldn't judge a book by its cover. We'll be back in June.

We were 18 and stuck driving through a blizzard, so my friends and I called around for a place to sleep. Relax Inn said our age was fine. When we arrived in the snow, the lobby doors were locked. I called and was yelled at about needing cash. I asked if we could come inside to check how much cash we had and what it would cost, but he hung up. On the next call he screamed, “DO YOU HAVE CASH?” then told us to leave before I could answer. I tried explaining we just needed somewhere to sleep for a few hours in the middle of the blizzard, and he kept yelling that he was calling the police. What a way to run a business. I hope you're turned away when you need help. So rude. This happened a while ago, but I think my original review was taken down, so I'm posting again.

The rooms were in awful shape: blood on several beds, cigarette holes and ash on the sheets, hair and other stains, broken curtains, bugs, and more. The location also didn't feel safe, and we weren't comfortable keeping our student group there, so we left. We'd booked multiple rooms before seeing the place because our youth trip was passing through on the way home from Ohio. They refused both a refund and even a partial discount on the $800+ bill, saying same-day cancellations had no exceptions. Our church group worked hard to raise that money for a national convention, and we had to spend more to find somewhere clean and safer. I usually don't leave reviews like this, but hope it helps someone avoid the same situation and this location.
