Motel 6 Sacramento, CA - Central

The room was clean and comfortable, which I appreciated after arriving around 1 a.m. But I barely slept. Someone in the room next door was doing karaoke around 4 a.m., then trucks outside the front of the building made a lot of noise, possibly unloading. I hope that was just an unusual night.

For the cheap rate, this was a comfortable enough place, and the room itself was nice. I made a last-minute booking around 4 a.m., and the lobby staff were helpful and pleasant at check-in. Parking is tight, but there should be a spot somewhere. We couldn't find an elevator to the second floor, so we carried the stroller upstairs. The only real drawback was a strange smell from the AC, which meant we had to open the windows.

This threw off my whole schedule. I had to find another hotel and reroute my plans after the front desk said my direct booking on the motel 6 website wasn't valid because of a glitch and there were no rooms. I never received a cancellation email. When I checked the site again, it was still letting people book rooms. I politely asked for a manager, but first was told one would be in later, then that the manager wouldn't be in at all that day and would be there tomorrow. Very disappointing.

Ruby made me feel welcome right away with her warm smile and genuine kindness. She was patient and professional answering my questions, and went out of her way to make sure my stay was just right. You can tell she takes pride in helping people and enjoys her work. She's caring, friendly, and a real asset to Motel 6. I hope her effort and positive attitude get the recognition they deserve!
