La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Roanoke Salem

I felt very safe traveling alone and arriving late at night, and the staff were friendly. The hotel was clean and comfortable, the bed was super comfortable, and the AC worked well. My dog could stay with me for a reasonable $25 pet fee. Breakfast in the morning was very good, and everything was well maintained. It was also convenient to get to from I-81 on my drive north. I had a great night here.

We stop here whenever we travel through Tennessee from Texas, and it’s become a real find. The beds are comfortable, the rooms are bright and very clean, and the sheets looked immaculate. There’s coffee, soap, shampoo, a nice TV and WiFi in the room, plus a comfortable office chair and either a sofa or armchair. They even accommodated a late checkout. We’ve stayed at La Quinta's that weren’t this clean or comfortable, and the price here is more than fair.

I came down the night before an early medical procedure at the VA Hospital because the drive is two hours. Check-in was easy, and the clerk was very nice. The parking lot was clean, and the hotel itself is a nice size. My room had two comfortable beds, with soft pillow tops over firm mattresses. It had fresh paint in warm, soothing colors and was very clean. I couldn't try breakfast, so I can't speak to it, though it looked good when we checked out. I have to return in two weeks and plan to stay here again.

Moms, think twice before booking. After driving more than eight hours with my one-year-old, who'd been cooped up in the car all day, I let him walk and play around our room. That was all he did. Staff told me the people downstairs were complaining, and when I explained he was just learning to walk, they told me to control my kids. I felt completely disrespected. If the noise was such a problem, they could have moved someone. Shame on the people who complained, too. I've stayed in lots of hotels without this happening, and I won't come back here.
