Red Carpet Inn and Suites Salina

By far the worst motel I’ve ever stayed in. There were lots of roaches, serious mold in the rooms, and drug addicts all around. Don’t bring your children here. It felt unsafe, and management sucks.

The bed was comfortable and the room was okay to sleep in, but it was dingy and could use more cleaning. Towels were worn and stained with blood, the tub bottoms were stained, and the toilet bowl was brown. The paint job was sloppy too, with paint on picture frames and over nails that should have been removed. The place has potential, but could use a little TLC. When I returned my key card, the woman seemed half-awake, and I was never offered a receipt.

The carpets need a steam clean. They felt kind of tacky, and I wouldn’t walk on them barefoot. The bed wasn’t great either, with little padding and noisy springs, probably because it’s old. Otherwise, I have no complaints. For such a cheap rate, this place was much nicer than I expected. It’s been updated, the linens seemed newer, the room smelled nice, and it was clean. The kids had a swing set, slide, monkey bars, and an outdoor pool to enjoy.

It wasn’t nearly as nice as it looked online, and the place has definitely seen better days. Half of it is literally in ruins. Still, I slept like a baby, so they must be doing something right. Reviews make it sound like housekeeping has sticky fingers, so I’d leave my belongings in the car. Other than that, no complaints.
