Extended Stay America Suites Salt Lake City Sugar House

We were here over the holidays because our family had a medical procedure at Primary Children's Hospital. The staff were outstanding and went out of their way to make the holiday special for my kids. The room was great, housekeeping did a great job, and the little grab-and-go breakfast has been a lifesaver on some mornings. The front office and maintenance teams were fabulous and went above and beyond. I'd absolutely recommend staying here.

My flight was cancelled very late on the day I was due to check in, so I called Extended Stay to explain that my rescheduled flight meant I wouldn't arrive until the next day. They said they'd note the change and that I wouldn't be marked as a no-show. But after a very long day getting there, I was told my reservation had been cancelled and nothing could be done. They wouldn't honor the same price, either. A new reservation that day would have cost nearly twice as much. The employee at the desk seemed to have no control over it, but he did give me a bottle of water. I'm really disappointed in the company and wouldn't recommend it unless you have no other option.

The place was impressively quiet, and the location was convenient, just a short drive from the highway. There's a large parking lot and a fast-food spot right out front. The room was spacious and worked well for my business trip. Room 110 did have a bathtub faucet that wouldn't shut off completely, so it dripped all night. That should be fixed to prevent wasting water. The self-service laundry was very useful for keeping up with clothes on a long trip.

The rooms feel brand new and they're great, and the staff are super awesome. It's so peaceful out back, with trees, a river, and ducks. I'd give it six stars if I could.
