I won't stay here again. I've been through Salt Lake City many times and found people there nice and helpful, and even downtown feels safe compared with many big cities. This Motel 6 changed how I see the area and made me question the brand too. The other guests I saw all looked like they'd just come from, or were headed to, a halfway house. It was unsettling to spend even one night there. The courtyard was lit almost like a prison yard, which was somewhat reassuring but not much. The room was average sized, reasonably clean for a motel, and well equipped otherwise. The AC and curtains worked, but there was no microwave or fridge. The bathroom seemed recently remodeled, though its towel hangers and toilet paper dispenser were broken, and the door had two big holes.

The staff were nice, but that's the only positive. I paid $108 after a military discount for a room with no hot water, dirty bed linens, and roaches crawling everywhere. There wasn't even coffee or breakfast included. I've stayed at several Motel 6s during my last military move across the USA, and this was the worst one. I wanted a refund so badly 😂. I took the sheets off the bed, hoping the next person would be luckier.

My sister and I had just arrived in Salt Lake at 3am after our flight was delayed, and we had already paid for and reserved a room. At the entrance, a guard in a booth told us the place was no longer a hotel but a shelter for homeless people. It was shocking. In the end, they treated us as if nothing had happened and handed over the room keys. The heating never worked. The queen bed looked like a full, and it had just one sad pillow. The bathroom was very old, with cigarette butts in it. We were scared, though thank God nothing happened to us. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. It's a shame they're still offering rooms to tourists when it's no longer a place to receive them. Please don't stay here.

The first room smelled awful, like someone hadn't showered in weeks and had kept their belongings there. We switched rooms, but the new one had no lampshades, and the toilet wasn't secure, so it slammed down whenever you stood up. The sink was clogged. I pulled the little plug and the water drained, but I heard water splashing underneath. The pipe connection had come undone, and the water smelled awful. There were blood stains on the sheets. Two rooms down, someone was beating up a woman. Yeah, great motel.
