Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham San Angelo

The AC was the best part, super quiet and kept the room comfortable all night. Our renovated room had newer beds that were great, and the room and property were clean. Breakfast included some healthy options: plain instant oatmeal, boiled eggs, a waffle maker, fruit, and cereal. It’s a simple place, and they’re renovating right now, but I’d highly recommend it.

My best friend and I used to stay here a lot, before she died in 2019. This was the last place I got to hang out with her, and I still come back to these reviews to see if anyone mentions a haunted room, lol. We had so much fun acting like goofy kids, even though we were adults. The place was awesome, with great rooms and great people. I still remember that familiar “microtel” scent. We never learned his name, but I hope “Hipster Dude” still works there. Thanks for being an affordable, laid-back place where we could hang out together.

After many years of staying here, I’m done recommending this place. My last two visits were disappointing. In room 222, for 1/14 -1-16, the room was incredibly small, with a table that didn’t fit, no iron or coffee maker, and a nasty TV remote. On the stay before that, I’d asked for a queen suite, but the closet was gone, there was no iron or ironing board, the window area had lost its cushion, and the divider between the bed and couch had been removed.

The location is convenient, and our room was clean and comfortable. The employees were all friendly and helpful. We appreciated that pets are allowed, but there wasn’t a designated place to walk a dog. There’s a vacant lot behind the hotel, though it had tall weeds and lots of trash.
